Lille’s injury crisis worsens with Mitchel Bakker’s absence | OneFootball

Lille OSC have confirmed that they will be without summer signing Mitchel Bakker (24) for several weeks after he picked up an injury during the 0-0 draw with AS Monaco on Friday evening.

Bakker was forced to withdraw early from the clash at the Stade Louis II after he suffered a muscle injury in the 30th minute. He was replaced by Gabriel Gudmundsson (25). Lille were able to share some good news, as the wing-back will not have to undergo surgery, but it will still be weeks before he can return to the field.

Lille are amid a significant injury crisis after a packed start to the campaign. The club are without Ismaily, Tiago Santos, Samuel Umtiti, Hákon Haraldsson, Ethan Mbappé, and Nabil Bentaleb.

Les Dogues will play Atlético de Madrid tomorrow evening after defeating the Spanish side’s fierce rivals Real Madrid in the previous week of Champions League fixtures.
