Chelsea kick-off their Carabao Cup campaign against Lincoln City in the third round tonight. The Blues have reached the final of this competition twice in the past four seasons, most recently in 2023-24 though in a losing effort, so a journey they hope takes them back to Wembley starts at the LNER Stadium.

Enzo Maresca's side are in need of a result after a complicated nine day period in which they conceded a last minute equaliser away at Brentford before suffering back-to-back losses against Bayern Munich and Manchester United, meaning it's now three games without a win across all competitions.

It would be a massive surprise if that record extends to four as Chelsea are heavy favourites to overcome a Lincoln side who despite making a very impressive start in League One this season - third in the table and two points off top spot - have only ever reached round four of this competition twice in their history.
