Liverpool have added Dayot Upamecano to their shortlist of centre-back options for the upcoming transfer windows.

Arne Slot wants to bring in another central defender, amid Ibrahima Konate’s uncertain future as the Frenchman approaches the end of his Liverpool contract. Konate is yet to commit to a new deal and Liverpool are looking at potential replacements.

The Premier League champions saw a deadline day move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi collapse, after Palace failed to secure a replacement in time.

Guehi remains an option for the Reds, but alternatives are being considered amid rival interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Despite that, Liverpool remain ‘relaxed’ heading into the upcoming windows.

Liverpool look at Upamecano as Konate replacement

Sky Germany are reporting that Upamecano is a player under consideration. Like Konate and Guehi, the France international is out of contract in the summer.

A free transfer move for Upamecano is being weighed up after a summer of heavy investment in 2025.

The 26-year-old has made 161 appearances for Bayern Munich since joining the German champions from RB Leipzig in 2021.

He has won three Bundesliga titles with the club and has been named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season on three occasions during his career.
