Isak got his wish to join Liverpool from Newcastle in the summer transfer window
Alexander Isak has publicly addressed the fallout from his move from Newcastle to Liverpool.
Isak completed a British record £125million transfer, potentially rising to £130million, to Liverpool on Deadline Day last week, bringing an end to a saga that went on for the entire summer.
However, around 10 days before the move was finalised, the Sweden international angered many Newcastle supporters upon taking to Instagram and issuing a damning statement aimed at the club claiming that promises had been “broken”.
Isak, though, insists he is just happy with how things turned out.
“That’s part of football. I can’t control everything that is said or written. But I’m glad I became a Liverpool player. That’s what I wanted and I’m happy about that,” he told the Swedish media, as per Aftonbladet.
“There is a lot to discuss, and it can be discussed for a long time. It has been educational, and I’m happy with the final result. I’m happy and proud to be a Liverpool player.
“I don’t want to go into details or talk about that situation too much. It is a closed chapter, but I have never had any problems.”

Over the course of the summer, Isak - who scored the goal against Liverpool in last season’s Carabao Cup final which won Newcastle their first trophy in 70 years - went from revered to reviled on Tyneside.
The discontent at Newcastle was evident upon confirmation of Isak's departure, with the striker getting a rather basic 37-word statement as a form of goodbye.
With regards to the statement, the 25-year-old dropped a huge hint that all what happened behind the scenes will be revealed one day.
He added: “It’s a bit like it is. It’s clear that not everyone has the whole picture, but that’s something for another day. Right now, the disappointment is about this match and how it went.
“But at the same time, I have a positive feeling about the club team part that is coming.”
