Liverpool and Manchester United absentee lists ahead of Leeds fixtures | OneFootball

Leeds United’s upcoming meetings with Liverpool and Manchester United are set to come against injury and international-hit squads.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke’s side visit Sunderland on Sunday, travel to Liverpool on New Year’s Day, then host United three days later.

For Liverpool, Giovanni Leoni remains sidelined with a torn ACL and is not due back until next season. Cody Gakpo is expected to miss a few weeks after the 3-3 draw at Leeds earlier this month, so a return is not anticipated before the new year.

Wataru Endo has an ankle injury and is not expected to be available until early next month. Mohamed Salah is away with Egypt at the African Cup of Nations.

For Manchester United, Harry Maguire has a thigh injury and is not expected to make the trip to Wolves. He could return early in the new year, although it remains to be seen whether Leeds will come too soon, while Noussair Mazraoui is on African Cup of Nations duty.
