In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Roma midfielder Neil El Aynaoui this summer. It has been revealed that the Reds would have to compete with Manchester United in the race to land the Moroccan midfield ace this summer.
El Aynaoui put in a string of impressive displays at the heart of Roma’s midfield in the previous campaign. The 25-year-old scored two goals and grabbed two assists in 34 matches for the Italian club last season in all competitions.
The Morocco international is currently one of the most talented midfielders in Serie A. Hence, the Reds would do well to get a deal over the line for him this off-season.
His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

El Aynaoui is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. He is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure possession back for his team on the defensive third of the pitch.
The Morocco international doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer as well. El Aynaoui is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder if told to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to get a deal over the line for him in this summer transfer window.
We can expect El Aynaoui to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.
At 25, El Aynaoui has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Reds to pursue in this summer transfer window. Hence, Iraola should consider going for a player with El Aynaoui’s skill set this off-season.
