In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Liverpool are leading the race for Everton midfielder James Garner this summer. It has been mentioned that the Reds would have to compete with Real Madrid in the race to land the English talent later this year.
Garner has enjoyed a decent run of form at Everton as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net three times and earned six assists in 34 matches for the Toffees this season across all competitions
The English talent is currently among the best holding midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, the Reds would do well to get a deal done for him at the end of this campaign.
His current contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Garner loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well.
The English sensation can shoot the ball with venom from long range and is full of energy and running in the middle of the park. He is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so.
Garner is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Liverpool. He would add more quality and depth to the Merseyside club’s midfield department and could help the Reds compete across all fronts in the coming seasons.
At 25, Garner has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Reds to pursue this summer. He might even help Liverpool challenge for some major honours over the next few years. All in all, the Reds would be wise to go for a player of Garner’s quality if they can get him for a reasonable fee this off-season.
