In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Liverpool are serious contenders for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. It is understood that the Reds are eyeing a move to bring the Ghanaian wide player to Merseyside next year.
Semenyo has made an impressive start to this Premier League campaign as he has produced a run of eye-catching displays for the Cherries in the final third. The Ghana international has scored six goals and earned three assists in 12 matches for Bournemouth this season across all competitions.
The 25-year-old has been a decent performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 1.91 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has kept 57.1% of his attempts on target. However, Semenyo needs to improve his ball distribution after completing just 69.4% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Vitality Stadium will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Reds to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.

Semenyo is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances in the final third and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The Ghana international is primarily a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if told to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Merseyside club.
Semenyo would no doubt enhance the quality of Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s attack. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team spot at Anfield in the coming years.
At 25, Semenyo has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a good option for the Reds to consider in the long run. With all things considered, Slot would be wise to get him on board this January or at the end of this campaign.
