Ayyoub Bouaddi (18) was already strongly linked with an exit from Lille OSC this summer. That was before his standout display against Brazil in Morocco’s World Cup opener. Foot Mercato understands that Liverpool’s hierarchy made the trip to the MetLife Stadium in order to scout the LOSC midfielder.

Bouaddi extended his deal at formative club Lille earlier in the season. The Ligue 1 side did not do so with the wish of retaining the former France youth international for the long term but rather to ensure that they would fetch a significant fee, likely this summer. Their chances of doing so have been bolstered, with Premier League interest growing.

Bouaddi is on Liverpool’s shortlist, notably alongside AS Monaco’s Lamine Camara, Foot Mercato understands. Other clubs are very much in the race, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and now Tottenham Hotspur.

Over the weekend, it was announced by The Times that the reigning Premier League champions had opened talks, with Sacha Tavolieri adding that there have been positive talks with the midfielder’s entourage.
