Liverpool claimed a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Molineux on Friday.
The visitors could have taken the lead inside the opening sixth minute of the game after Cody Gakpo met Ryan Gravenberch’s cross, but his header struck the post.
Rio Ngumoha skipped past Jackson Tchatchoua before picking out the bottom corner, but Sam Johnstone denied him
Andy Robertson broke the deadlock in the 51st minute. The Scot unleashed a belter into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Mohamed Salah quickly doubled the Reds’ advantage after he was found at the back post by Robertson.
Jones scored the visitors’ third after Gravenberch flicked the ball into his path. The Englishman found the bottom corner with a curler.
Jeremie Frimpong could’ve increased the margin after Gakpo found him on the break, but Johnstone palmed his effort away.
Hwang Hee-chan pulled one back for Wolves after he latched onto Johnstone’s long ball, wriggling past Dominik Szoboszlai and Robertson before hitting the bottom corner.
The Reds will find out their quarter-final opponents in Monday’s draw.
