The winter transfer window passed with Alexander Isak still at Newcastle United, despite limited rumors about a move in January. However, reports suggest PSG and other clubs may make a stronger push for him this summer.

RMC Sport previously reported that PSG was willing to offer Gonçalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio in a swap deal to bring Isak to Paris.

Liverpool are also in the running for the Swedish striker. Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri revealed that the club has already begun talks with his representatives.

The Reds are reportedly preparing a significant bid for Isak, potentially breaking their usual transfer approach to secure the 25-year-old.

Newcastle is said to have set Isak’s price at €180 million (£150 million), which would make him Liverpool’s record signing, surpassing the £85 million paid for Darwin Núñez in 2022.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona is interested in a move for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali and could also make a bid for Isak.

GIVE ME SPORT reported on Friday, citing sources, that Liverpool’s interest in Isak is growing stronger. While Newcastle has no plans to sell Isak, football circles widely believe they value him at least £120 million. However, the report suggests Newcastle might be open to selling their star.

The club’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League could be key in the decision. If they miss out on a top-four finish, there’s speculation that Isak could seek a move to secure a spot in Europe’s premier competition.

Despite the hefty price tag, Liverpool appears confident in completing the deal. The report also notes that some figures at Anfield believe a move is within reach. While details remain unclear, insiders hint that private discussions have made a deal seem more achievable than initially thought.
