Liverpool are planning to sign a midfielder during the summer transfer window and could look to recruit in Ligue 1, according to David Lynch. The Premier League champions are considering potential moves for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara (22) and Malian international midfielder Mamadou Sangaré (23) from Lens.
Both Camara and Sangaré have impressed for their respective clubs in the French top flight this season. The former Brest midfielder has played a pivotal role in running the show in midfield for Les Monégasques while Paul Pogba has spent most of the season out injured. The Lens midfielder has gained plaudits for being one of the standout performers in the league of talents this term as Les Sang et Or have emerged as unlikely title contenders.
Despite the Reds showing an interest in the two Ligue 1 midfielders, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton remains their top target as they look to bolster Arne Slot’s options in the middle of the pitch. It remains to be seen whether the Merseyside outfit will look to recruit more than one midfielder.
