Liverpool's transfer plans for the summer have already been changed massively.

Most people thought we'd be seeing Yan Diomande in a Liverpool kit but, now that isn't likely to happen, the Reds' attention needs to be turned elsewhere.

Of course, they had multiple back up options in case the deal for Diomande fell through but, on paper, none of them look as good as the Ivorian.

That is, until one player popped up who could actually be better for Liverpool than the RB Leipzig star.

In order to replace Mohamed Salah, Liverpool need a big-name player who will be able to instantly hit the ground running.

Although Diomande would've been a massive risk, his underlying statistics proved that he had what it takes to make it in the Premier League.

And, the fact that he could play on either wing was also a massive bonus.

However, that deal was clearly not meant to be which now means that Liverpool are focusing on other targets.

A fresh report from journalist Sacha Tavolieri has just shared an insight into Liverpool's thinking and how they've already made contact with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola.

"Paris Saint-Germain has already discussed directly with several clubs, including Liverpool, for Bradley Barcola," he wrote via his personal X account.

"Yan Diomande's transfer automatically opens the door to a departure for the Frenchman, who is expected to leave PSG this summer.

Before Diomande called his move to Liverpool off, everyone was convinced that he was already a Liverpool player.

The Reds have made it abundantly clear that he was their first choice so, any other player that now enters the frame will know they're just Liverpool's back-up option.

Despite this, if Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes give themselves time to look at every option they have available to them, they'll be able to figure out which move represents the best deal.

Said El Mala, Yankuba Minteh and Matias Fernandez-Pardo are three other players who have been linked with a Liverpool move and, although two of them are primarily left-wingers, each of them can do a shift in any of the three forward positions.

There's plenty of time until the 2026-27 season kicks off so, even though Liverpool will want to get all their deals done as soon as possible, there's no rush, not just yet anyway.
