Arne Slot has bolstered almost every area of his Liverpool title-winning squad so far this summer and he isn’t done yet.
Giorgi Mamardashvili arrived from Valencia this summer to provide competition to Alisson Becker in the goalkeeping department as Caoimhin Kelleher headed to Brentford in an £18million move.
Liverpool also moved quick to add quality to both full-back positions by signing both Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
The crown jewel of their transfer business so far is the record-breaking signing of Florian Wirtz and will add much-needed creativity from midfield.
Now the Reds are closing in on a £69million deal to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 23-year-old will likely take the place of Darwin Nunez, who is expected to leave this summer.
That move will take Liverpool’s spending close to the £250million mark this summer and more are expected to arrive.
Next on the priority list is the centre-back position. Jarell Quansah has already left in a £35million move to Bayer Leverkusen, leaving Liverpool with just three senior central defenders.
Ibou Konate’s future at the club remains in doubt with Real Madrid heavily interested in a move for the Frenchman, whilst Joe Gomez’s injury record remains a real concern.
At the top of the list of targets in that position is Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, who has just one year remaining on his deal at Selhurst Park. Liverpool are very keen on a deal for the 25-year-old but only at the right price.

Crystal Palace are reportedly holding out for around £45-50million for the English international, whilst Liverpool are looking to agree a deal in the region of £40million.
Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have also reignited their interest in the defender, but according to The Telegraph, Liverpool remain the favourites to sign Guehi.
If a fee can’t be agreed this summer, then don’t be surprised if Liverpool look to secure a free transfer in the summer of 2026.
