Liverpool Face Early Injury Concern as Wright Stretchered Off

Liverpool’s UEFA Youth League campaign started with a worrying sight as summer signing Will Wright was stretchered off during the clash with Atletico Madrid at Kirkby.

Wright’s Early Setback

The 17-year-old striker, who arrived from Salford City in August, required lengthy treatment on the pitch after going down under a challenge. As Ian Doyle reported on X, Wright “appeared to jar his knee in a challenge” before being taken off.

Doyle added: “Not good news for summer LFC signing Will Wright, who has undergone lengthy treatment on an injury in the UEFA Youth League game against Atletico Madrid and has just left on a stretcher.”

It was a frustrating turn of events for the teenager, who had been tipped for a bright future after netting more than 50 goals at youth level and making his senior debut for Salford last season.
