Liverpool have just been handed a massive update regarding Hugo Ekitike.
For the first time since his tenure things are looking a little bleak for Arne Slot. Liverpool have not been in a crisis like this since they lost to Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League and were also defeated by Newcastle in the Carabao Cup within the matter of weeks.
At the time, both results were hugely disappointing. Ultimately though, as there usually is, there was light at the end of the tunnel.
Liverpool fought back and they were crowned Premier League champions increasing their lead over their rivals.
Right now, Slot will be concocting ways to repeat the same feat after back-to-back defeats. It's not all doom and gloom at Anfield.

The Reds are still top of the Premier League and have plenty of time to turn things around.
Although Slot's job is made the more difficult by the injury crisis unfurling at the club right now.
First Giovanni Leoni picked up a horror injury. Then Jayden Danns and Federico Chiesa were both ruled out. To make matters worse Alisson is now also expected for a lengthy time on the sidelines.
And then there have been fears over the extent of Ekitike's injury. The Frenchman had been forced off the pitch against Galatasaray.
The way he was so swiftly substituted considering Liverpool were still chasing an equaliser was a worrying sign. After all the bad news that has happened in the past week, the club's supporters were right to fear the worst.
However, on Thursday afternoon there was a brilliant and really encouraging update over the extent of Ekitike's injury.
The 23-year-old was called-up to the French national team ahead of their fixtures against Azerbaijan and Iceland in FIFA World Cup qualifying next week.
Ekitike's call-up is brilliant news. Even though Liverpool will not want him to go away on international duty, the fact that he was called-up means that his injury isn't a serious one.
Liverpool will be cautious with him against Chelsea. It remains to be seen whether he can play in that match. But looking ahead to post the international break, it looks like Ekitike will definitely be available for Slot's side and that is a massive boost.
Considering, Jayden Danns is injured and Alexander Isak is not fully fit, Slot doesn't have a lot of options in the no.9 role so having Ekitike fit is going to be very important.
Especially because he seems to be one of the few new signings who has actually settled in seamlessly and currently is making an impact in the final third on a consistent basis.
