Liverpool center back Ibrahima Konaté has yet to agree to a contract extension, fueling speculation about a possible move to PSG or Real Madrid.
Diario AS previously reported that Real Madrid are interested in signing Konaté this summer but only if Liverpool lower their asking price. The Spanish club is reportedly prepared to offer between €20 million and €25 million, while Liverpool are holding out for at least €50 million.
Real Madrid aren’t expected to meet that valuation, especially with Konaté reportedly eager to join them. They’re content to wait until 2026, when he could leave on a free transfer.
As reported by Foot Mercato, Konaté has been offered to several top clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona—potentially paving the way for a move once his contract expires.

Journalist David Lynch, who specialises in all things Liverpool FC, provided insight into the Konaté situation and shared his opinion on where the player stands regarding extending with Liverpool or testing greener pastures elsewhere, whether it be with PSG or Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid are clearly interested aren’t they – there is no question about that! But speaking to people close to Konate, I still get the feeling that his priority is to renew with Liverpool and there are talks there, but it is kind of stuck at the moment,” Lynch said on the Sports Mole YouTube channel.
“I don’t think it has reached the point of no return and the player has definitely decided he wants to go to Real Madrid, I don’t get that feeling at all. That’s not to say that it won’t end in that way because that possibility is 100 percent on the table, but we are still in the moment where there is hope there will be a breakthrough.”
