in the last few weeks over the shot-stopper and now comes decisive news from the Brazilian club.
The goalkeeper has secured a new deal with his club - which will last until September 2028.
“Goalkeeper Gabriel Menegon has extended his contract with Tricolor until September 2028. The athlete has been playing in BaseGremista competitions and has been with Grêmio since 2022," a report on Itatiaia reads.
“Menegon's termination fee at Grêmio was set at around R$30 million for Brazilian football.”
Corinthians could be in the hunt for Menegon with the Sao Paulo side credited with interest previously. The R$30m fee equates to around £4.2m at current exchange rates - demonstrating just how highly this young goalkeeper is rated.
His quality is surely going to be noticed once the U17 World Cup kicks off so Liverpool have to think about when they are going to make a move for a young man who could become Alisson’s long-term successor in the Anfield goalmouth.
