Liverpool have a lot of work to do in the summer transfer window.

Their performances have been well below their usual expectations which means that their transfer window is probably going to be busy.

Several players have already been linked with an Anfield switch and now, it feels like they could've finally found someone to be Dominik Szoboszlai's understudy.

The Hungarian has been one of Liverpool's best players this term and, without him, it's unclear how much worse off Liverpool would've actually been.

And now, according to some rumours that have recently emerged, a younger carbon copy of the midfielder is now on the Reds' radar.

One thing that has been made clear this season is that Liverpool's midfield ranks are in need of a revamp.

The Anfield outfit have struggled to keep up with their opponents in the middle of the park this term which explains all the links with new midfielders over the last few weeks.

And now, according to Danish outlet Bold, FC Porto's Victor Froholdt is on their radar.

"[He] can be bought for free for 635 million DKK [£73.5 million]," they wrote.

"As Bold understands, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle are showing great interest in the 20-year-old Danish international.

"There are three clubs that are close to developing the complete midfielder.

"Both because it has been a truly exceptional season, where he has had an international breakthrough in one year. When you are 'only' 20 years old, it is often something that causes particular excitement.

"Whether this will then lead to a move from Porto to the Premier League after just one season is far from certain.

"Victor Froholdt joined last summer for 165 million DKK on a deal until 2030."

Although Froholdt has only been used as a central midfielder by the Portuguese champions this season, there have bene times earlier in his career when he's played in a more advanced role.

This experience of playing on the wing has massively helped develop his decision making and the fact that he's composed when in front of goal proves how well its worked.

Much like Szobsozlai, the 20-year-old never stops running and, even when he's outdone by an opponent, he always tries his best to earn the ball back and get the ball back in his teams possession.

Alongside his ability to cover ground like Szoboszlai, he also has a keen eye for goal as he's bagged eight for himself and set up his teammates on six separate occasions.

Indeed, his £73 million price tag is rather steep and it would be a massive gamble for a relatively unproven central midfielder but, if he managed to replciate his performances for Porto as a Liverpool player, he'd easily become their next Szoboszlai.
