Last night at Anfield in the Champions League, during Liverpool's heavy loss to PSV (1-4), Hugo Ekitike was forced to leave the pitch. The French striker was substituted in the 61st minute after suffering from back pain that prevented him from continuing the match.

After the heavy defeat, Arne Slot confirmed the severity of the former PSG player's problem to TNT Sports: "Within the first five to ten minutes of the first half, Hugo was already feeling too much pain in his back. That's why he had to come off." Slot also emphasized that this discomfort affected the team's performance, especially in the second half, as Hugo Ekitike struggled to move, just as he did in the first half.
