Liverpool narrowly missed out on the signing of Marc Guehi at the end of the summer transfer window.
Richard Hughes, the Reds’ sporting director made a late play for the Crystal Palace captain - and was willing to pay an initial £35m for a player out of contract in 2026.
But disaster struck at the last minute for Liverpool - with the Eagles backing out of the deal owing to a failure to land a replacement of their own.
Liverpool have therefore lost out on their clear run at Guehi - and his contract situation means that now several of the Premier League and Europe’s top clubs have got the 25-year-old in their sights.
A report from TBR Football claims Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City are now ready to fight for the England international defender and international royalty in the shape of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested.

And it’s perhaps the Bavarians who are best positioned for Guehi right now - with the report claiming the German giants were in attendance to scout Guehi last weekend.
The stopper of course played his part in Palace’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Selhurst Park - with Bayern recruitment staff reportedly happy with what they saw from Guehi.
“We are told that [Michael] Olise and [Harry] Kane have recommended Guehi to club officials – but they are already well aware of Guehi’s situation,” a report reads.
“They took the chance to see Guehi in action against Alexander Isak at the weekend, and will have no doubt departed Selhurst Park, impressed with what they saw.
“Guehi, as I have previously said, is emerging as one of the most wanted potential Bosman free transfers in history – in terms of how many top clubs want him and are looking at landing him. It really is every major club in Europe.”
