Liverpool: Jamie Carragher goes after Mohamed Salah
Nothing is going right at Liverpool. Former Reds defender Jamie Carragher is once again taking aim at Mohamed Salah.
The atmosphere at Liverpool is currently suffocating. As the Reds navigate a turbulent spell on the pitch, Mohamed Salah added fuel to the fire by lashing out at his club after the draw with Leeds. The reason? For the third game in a row, he started on the bench.
Following a bombshell interview, another Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, stepped up to the microphone. According to him, the Egyptian is a "disgrace" and is trying to inflict "maximum damage" on the club. Salah, for his part, claimed he had been "thrown under the bus" by his own team and revealed he had "no relationship" with his manager, Arne Slot.
These statements sent shockwaves through the club, prompting Liverpool to take drastic action by dropping the Egyptian from the squad for the Champions League clash against Inter Milan. For Carragher, this wasn't just a moment of frustration, but a premeditated move: "I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the match. He waited for a bad result, they conceded a goal in the last minute. Liverpool fans, the coach, the whole club feels like they're at rock bottom right now, and he chose this moment to go after the manager and maybe even try to get him sacked."
He concluded: "I want to remind Mo Salah and his agent that before joining Liverpool, he was known as the guy who failed at Chelsea. That's a fact. (...) All this tells you that, no matter how good a player you are, you need the help of your teammates, your manager, and the fans."
