Indeed, Jürgen Klopp was full of praise for Florian Wirtz, despite a lackluster start to the season. Speaking to ntv Nachrichten, the former Liverpool manager made a point of defending the German international in the face of criticism:

"His quality is exceptional, the criticism is a bit overblown," he said. For Klopp, there is no doubt that the 21-year-old attacking midfielder will soon rediscover his best form: "He will end up showing it again in every match, just as he did at Leverkusen."
