Liverpool are leading the race to sign highly sought-after Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola.

That’s according to Ben Jacobs, who claims that the reigning European champions are open to a potential sale, and Liverpool are ‘more active’ than their rivals.

Barcola is also open to a summer departure from the French capital, with reports claiming his representatives have been assessing potential opportunities for several weeks.

He could be tempted by a move to Liverpool, especially if he’s guaranteed a first-team spot.

Liverpool are still on the market for Mohamed Salah’s long-term successor and have been linked with a host of exciting names throughout the summer.

However, Barcola has become a key target and the Reds are ready to pull out all the stops to secure a deal. He will bring pace, creativity, and plenty of attacking threat, although he won’t come cheap.

PSG are expected to demand around €150 million (£128m) for the ‘exceptional‘ winger, which would surpass the current British transfer record.

Liverpool had already invested over £400m into rebuilding the squad last summer. But they’ll need to loosen their purse strings again to bring Barcola to Anfield.

The Reds are not the only club keeping a close eye on developments. Arsenal are also keeping an eye on Barcola’s situation, although PSG’s asking price could keep them at arm’s length.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City have also signalled their interest in Barcola and have been kept fully informed of developments.

PSG are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements of their own and have been heavily linked with a move for RB Leipzig’s breakout star Yan Diomande.

The Ivory Coast international turned down Liverpool for PSG, although that move is far from finalised.

PSG have also been linked with a mind-boggling move for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise, while the Bavarians are one of several teams interested in Barcola.

The French champions are under no pressure to sell Barcola, so they’re in a strong negotiating position.

If the Frenchman is to switch allegiances this summer, it will come at an earth-shattering cost to any club brave enough to formalise their interest.
