Liverpool added around £450m worth of talent during the summer transfer window. We saw sporting director Richard Hughes break the British transfer record TWICE in deals for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.
Along with the attack, the Reds upgraded almost every sector of the squad - with additions at goalkeeper, at full-back and also in the centre of defence.
Arne Slot and Hughes opted NOT to add any midfielders however - with Tyler Morton leaving on a permanent basis and Harvey Elliott as well as James McConnell leaving on initial loan deals.

The Premier League champions will therefore be relying on their title-winning midfield players until January at least.
Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo form the core of the Reds’ midfield - but there have been some reports that the Liverpool decision-makers are seeking to augment those numbers.
We could see a deal for Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga for example - with the France World Cup finalist re-emerging on Liverpool’s radar according to reports in the Spanish press.
Although the 22-year-old played and scored against Kairat in the Champions League in midweek, Camavinga has lost his place in the Madrid lineup.
Following the signing of Alvaro Carreras, he no longer commands a place at left-back while competition is as intense as ever in Los Blancos’ midfield.
And now Fichajes has stated that the former Rennes star could seek to FORCE his way out of the Bernabeu if he is unable to command a starting place.
Camavinga won’t be short of Premier League suitors - with the report claiming that Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all interested in adding the left-footer to the ranks.
“If Xabi Alonso does not secure him a place in the starting eleven, clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool would be willing to make him an offer,” the report reads.
“Arsenal would be genuinely interested if they detect he's not going to be a starter for Real Madrid. Chelsea views him as a versatile option. Liverpool, for their part, could launch a significant offer if an opportunity arises.
“The 22-year-old Frenchman has admirers from top European clubs: Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus have also been mentioned.”
Liverpool may well consider a midfield shakeup before long - with Szoboszlai being asked to fulfil many roles all over the pitch this season and Mac Allister looking a long way short of his best.
“Liverpool could offer an ambitious project if he becomes a starting player," the report continues.
“If Alonso doesn't guarantee him regular playing time, players like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool will not hesitate to make offers. The Frenchman could force his exit if he doesn't find the starting spot he seeks.”
Camavinga, under contract until 2029, has made ZERO starts for Madrid this season.
