Mohamed Salah’s time at Liverpool is coming to an end.

The Egyptian King announced this season would be his last at Anfield recently, and there’s plenty of speculation over who could replace him.

The 33-year-old was dropped from the starting XI against PSG in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final as Arne Slot trialled a new system.

Soon the Reds will have to deal with the reality of Salah not being a part of the squad at all, but the man that should replace the legendary forward played in Wednesday night’s match.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a player that Richard Hughes has tried to bring to Liverpool before, and he should be the man to replace Salah.

Kvaratskhelia is the ideal Mo Salah replacement

The Reds were in talks to bring the Georgian to Anfield before he made the move to Paris last January.

The move didn’t materialise then, but this summer could be the perfect opportunity to finally bring the electric forward to Liverpool.

A deal wouldn’t be cheap, but it would be worth it. A forward line consisting of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak & Kvaratskhelia would be unbelievable.

The 25-year-old scored PSG’s second against Liverpool in brilliant style, showing off his close control, composure and excellent finishing ability.

The forward offers versatility that Liverpool will appreciate too and can be deployed right across the front line.

Drawing comparisons to Maradona and Luis Figo from TNT’s commentary team, Kvaratskhelia is on the cusp of being truly world class and a move to Liverpool could be exactly what he needs to certify his elite status.

Having already managed 19 goals and assists in 39 appearances this season, Liverpool should pay whatever it costs to bring Kvaratskhelia in this summer to replace Salah.

The forward is valued at €98.3 million (~£85.5m) by FootballTransfers, but it would likely take a fee even higher than that to prise him away from Paris.

Liverpool should pay whatever it takes, and Kvaratskhelia showed that on Wednesday.
