Liverpool are keen to prevent another high-profile departure after losing Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate for free over the past 12 months.

The Hungarian was voted Liverpool Player of the Season for 2025/26. He also claimed the club’s Player of the Month award five times.

Szoboszlai featured in 57 games across all competitions, bagging 13 goals and 12 assists. He scored four direct free-kicks in the Premier League.

The Hungarian international was also instrumental in Liverpool’s 2024/25 league title triumph, making 29 starts.

Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2023 and has since established himself as a key player.

His versatility, work rate, creativity and leadership have made him an indispensable figure in the squad.

Szoboszlai is expected to assume an even greater role at Liverpool next season, following the departures of Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson.

He is one of the candidates for the Reds’ vacant vice-captaincy role alongside goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Szoboszlai is set to travel with the rest of the squad for Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States on Monday.
