In a recent segment on Youtube, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Liverpool remain keen on recruiting Red Bull Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. Romano said,

“PSG are interested. Bayern are interested and Liverpool also remain in for the player. Several clubs are calling for the player. Leipzig are discussing the possibility of keeping the player for one more season and including a release clause to keep him until 2027. Liverpool keep tracking the player. Liverpool scouts have been at Leipzig’s last two games to watch the player. Diomande, for sure, is going to be an interesting case to follow in this summer window.”

Diomande’s Impressive Form In German Football

Diomande has enjoyed a decent run of form at the German club as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them on the offensive end of the field. The 19-year-old has registered 13 goals and earned nine assists in 33 matches for RB Leipzig this season in all competitions.

His current contract at the German club will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Reds to sign him on the cheap later this year.

What Will Diomande Bring To Liverpool?

Diomande can use his pace well to get in behind the opposition’s backline and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He has got the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net and can strike the ball with venom from long range.

The Ivory Coast sensation can chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team in the final third. Diomande is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also operate as a right-winger if told to do so. However, there are some question marks over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League.

Diomande would undoubtedly bring more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club.

At 19, Diomande has got the ceiling to be a future star in English football. Therefore, Slot should focus on getting him on board this summer.
