Curtis Jones Transfer Latest, Inter Milan Test Liverpool’s Resolve

Inter Milan Interest Raises Curtis Jones Question

Curtis Jones has become one of those Liverpool players whose value depends on where you are standing. To some supporters, he is an academy graduate with rare press resistance, tactical intelligence and a natural feel for Anfield’s demands. To others, he is a talented midfielder who has never quite nailed down a permanent place in the strongest XI.

That tension now sits at the heart of Inter Milan’s interest.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, “Still no agreement between the two clubs for the Englishman: 10 million are in flux between the Nerazzurri’s offer and the Reds’ request.”

The numbers are clear enough. Liverpool want €30 million plus a percentage of any future resale. Inter, newly crowned Scudetto winners, are currently offering €20 million. That €10 million gap may look small in modern football terms, but it carries a wider meaning.

Liverpool’s Asking Price Feels Deliberate

Liverpool’s valuation of Jones feels less like a starting point and more like a message. They are not presenting him as an unwanted squad player. They are pricing him as a Premier League proven midfielder, an England international, and a homegrown asset with years still ahead of him.

Di Marzio reports that “Liverpool are asking €30 million plus a percentage of the player’s future resale value , while Inter are stuck at €20 million.”

That sell on clause matters. It suggests Liverpool are aware that Jones could still develop considerably. At 25, he is not a speculative teenager, but he is not a finished product either. In the right midfield structure, with regular minutes and clearer responsibility, there is every chance his ceiling rises again.

Inter’s Midfield Plan Adds Context

Inter’s interest also makes sense. Their midfield has long been built on control, rhythm and intelligence rather than chaos. Jones fits that profile. He is tidy in possession, comfortable receiving under pressure and capable of carrying the ball through congested areas.

Di Marzio notes that Inter are already planning for next season and that “Work is underway, particularly on the midfield.” That is significant. This is not a casual enquiry. It appears to be part of a wider strategy.

For Liverpool, the question is whether Jones remains part of their own plan. If he is, €30 million feels low in emotional terms but plausible in market terms. If he is not, this may become one of those deals where timing decides everything.

Transfer Gap Leaves Room for Movement

There is still distance between the clubs, but not so much that the deal feels impossible. Inter may hope Liverpool soften. Liverpool may believe Inter’s interest will grow stronger.

Jones, meanwhile, sits in the middle of it all. He is no longer a young prospect being protected by sentiment. He is a senior player at a major club, and senior players eventually need clarity.

Our View , Anfield Index Analysis

From a Liverpool fan’s perspective, this report feels like one of those transfer stories that makes you pause before forming a firm opinion. Curtis Jones is easy to underrate because he rarely plays in highlight reel bursts. His best work is often subtle, the shoulder drop, the pass before the pass, the calm touch in a messy midfield.

At the same time, there has to be a serious conversation about squad evolution. If Liverpool need funds for more explosive, more physically dominant, or more specialist midfield options, then selling from an area of depth may make sense. The issue is the price.

€20 million feels far too low. In a market where Premier League experience, homegrown status and European pedigree all carry premiums, Inter’s offer looks opportunistic. €30 million plus a resale percentage is closer, but even that feels like Liverpool leaving some value on the table if Jones finds regular football and blossoms in Serie A.

The concern for supporters is obvious. Liverpool have seen players leave, improve elsewhere, and then be spoken about as obvious misses. Jones could be one of them. He has flaws, yes, but he also has qualities that modern coaches value deeply.

If Inter want him, Liverpool should not be awkward for the sake of it. But they should be firm. Academy sentiment cannot dictate transfer policy, yet neither should clever clubs be allowed to pick up useful Liverpool players at discount prices.
