PSG are keeping tabs on Ibrahima Konaté, but they’re not alone. Real Madrid are also monitoring the Liverpool center-back, and interest is growing as the summer transfer window approaches. Konaté remains under contract through 2026, though that hasn’t stopped top clubs from circling.
With Milan Skriniar likely to leave permanently—he’s currently on loan at Fenerbahçe—PSG have started weighing defensive reinforcements. While no move for Konaté is imminent, the club seems to be laying the groundwork for a potential replacement.
This isn’t the first time Konaté has been linked to a return to France. Earlier this year, Anfield Watch reported PSG were already showing interest. A Paris native who developed at Paris FC before rising to prominence at RB Leipzig, Konaté is seen as a long-term fix at the back and a key target for PSG this summer.

Football Insider reported on Wednesday, citing sources, that Liverpool have not given up hope of convincing Konaté to sign a new contract.
The report claims the French defender has already rejected the club’s first extension offer, and there are growing fears he could leave as a free agent in 2026—just like Trent Alexander-Arnold might. Even so, Liverpool are still hopeful of reaching an agreement.
Konate would be free to negotiate a move abroad starting in January. Last month, Foot Mercato reported that Konaté had been offered to Real Madrid, PSG, Barcelona, and several other top clubs with an eye on a potential move in 2026.
Talks over a new contract with Liverpool have reportedly hit a standstill, and the French center-back is said to be open to a fresh challenge. While multiple teams are keeping tabs on the situation, Konaté is believed to favor a move to Real Madrid.
