Liverpool have been low on players ever since the summer transfer window slammed shut.

Arne Slot and Richard Hughes both tried their best to get some extra deals over the line but in the end, they left their negotiations too late.

The Anfield outfit are currently sitting outside of the Premier League's top four spots and, even though they're still competing in the Champions League, it's unclear whether they'll qualify for the competition next term or not.

Liverpool's lack of depth is likely one of the main causes of this, especially with the number of injuries the club have suffered.

And now that the end of the 2025-26 season is edging closer, rumours about the Reds' transfer plans are starting to emerge with several players on the chopping block ahead of the next window.

Liverpool wonderkid Vincent Joseph edging closer to Manchester United switch

Liverpool and Manchester United have been arch rivals for as long as many people can remember.

Even though both teams have other Premier League teams in their cities, the rivalry between United and Liverpool is far stronger.

This rivalry has been the cause of many situations both on and off the pitch which is why the last player to move from Liverpool to the Red Devils was Phil Chisnall back in 1964.

However, that could all be about to change if the latest rumours about Vincent Joseph are true.

"Understand talks have been held with the representatives of Liverpool U18 talent Vincent Joseph," an insider wrote via X.

"United are pushing strongly and are confident of landing him, having already invited him to Carrington earlier this year. One to really watch."

Liverpool would hate to lose Vincent Joseph

Although Joseph isn't likely to be a player that many Liverpool fans have heard of, he's an exceptional talent.

He's regularly played for the Reds' Under-16s and has even captained them at a tournament or two.

Although his natural position is at striker, on occasion, Liverpool have also used him as a number 10.

In this day and age, versatility is key in football and, as long as the 16-year-old can finetune both positions, Liverpool could be onto a winner.

However, if he does end up exiting L4 and chooses to join Man United, it'll certainly be a massive blow for the Reds, especially since they seem to have a bit of a golden generation coming through at the moment.

The likes of Rio Ngumoha, Kieran Morrison and Trey Nyoni have all broken into the first team recently and, if Joseph manages to keep on this upward trajectory, he could also find himself in one of the Reds' matchday squads at some point.
