Liverpool are set for imminent talks. A €30m agreement has taken a major step forward.
Liverpool haven't done much business in the transfer window so far, though it's very early days. The Reds will likely wait for the World Cup to finish before doing most of their work, though there is still some to be done beforehand.
One thing on the agenda is the future of Curtis Jones. The Scouser is expected to leave the club this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.
Inter are heavily interested, much as they were back in January. Tuttosport claims that deal will move forward shortly, too, as the Italians should have the money necessary to pay Liverpool's €30m asking price.
They've only offered around €20m thus far but will sell Davide Frattesi to Nottingham Forest. That will free up what they need to offer more for Jones.
Now, we completely disagree with the plan to sell Jones. A year under Andoni Iraola could see his value skyrocket, for one, but he's also one of the few homegrown players in the squad.
Liverpool appear to disagree completely. A deal with Inter looks imminent.

Liverpool Career and Performance
As of 16 June 2026, Curtis Jones is a 25-year-old central midfielder for Liverpool FC. The academy graduate has continued to establish himself as a trusted, tactically versatile component of the club's midfield engine room. During the 2025/26 campaign, Jones registered 34 appearances across all competitions, contributing three goals and four assists. His exceptional press-resistance, energy, and mature ball retention were key assets in helping the Reds navigate a gruelling domestic season. Having now surpassed 150 senior appearances for his boyhood club, he remains under contract at Anfield until 30 June 2027.
International Status and World Cup Involvement
Jones is a highly capped England youth international who has previously hovered on the fringes of the senior national squad setup. However, he was not selected by manager Thomas Tuchel for the final 26-man England squad currently competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, allowing him a full summer rest ahead of pre-season.
