According to Sky Germany, Liverpool are considering bringing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah back using an €80m buy-back option.
Quansah left the Premier League champions for Leverkusen in a €35m deal that included the buy-back. Liverpool are assessing their defensive options regarding the 23-year-old.
Triggering the clause would be a major outlay, particularly after the €63m signing of Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet in the summer.
In a mixed Leverkusen campaign, he has been among their stronger performers. At the weekend he scored his fourth of the season to secure a 1-1 draw with Mainz.
A return to England after one season is seen as unlikely to justify the price, while staying at the BayArena could help him grow into more of a defensive leader. At Liverpool, he is likely to be behind others in the pecking order.
