Liverpool 'to consider selling' Harvey Elliott for about £30m as Sunderland and Leeds weigh move | OneFootball

Sunderland and Leeds United are among the clubs linked with Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott, with Liverpool said to be considering a sale if he does not impress new head coach Andoni Iraola during pre-season, Football Insider reports.

Elliott has returned to Merseyside after a difficult loan at Aston Villa, where he made only nine appearances in all competitions and did not meet the conditions for a permanent move. He is understood to want another chance under Iraola at Anfield.

Several clubs are monitoring the situation, with Leeds, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and newly promoted Coventry City all credited with interest. His top-flight and Champions League experience makes him an attractive option, though the costs involved could be a hurdle.

Valuations vary from €35 million to around €40 million, with €35 million equating to roughly £29.7 million at current rates.

Sunderland are expected to weigh a range of attacking options as Régis Le Bris strengthens for a campaign featuring Premier League and Europa League football.

Elliott can operate from the right, as a number ten or in a deeper creative role, a versatility Le Bris values. For now, his pre-season form is likely to determine whether any move becomes realistic.
