Now that AS Monaco’s season is concluded, the biggest question surrounds the future of Maghnes Akliouche (23), the most valuable asset at the club and the one most frequently linked with a departure.

However, whilst Monaco will allow Akliouche to leave his formative club this summer, he will not come cheap. “For him to leave, we have big expectations. I think that there are very few clubs that can sign a player like him,” said the Principality club’s CEO, Thiago Scuro, during an interview attended by Get French Football News on Monday.

Paris Saint-Germain are one of the clubs able to buy the France youth international, valued at €60m by the Principality club. However, there is a gap in valuation, as per L’Équipe. PSG are only willing to spend €50m, and whilst the player can see himself playing at the Parc des Princes, the deal is currently at a standstill. In any case, there won’t be any advancement until after the UEFA Champions League final, where Les Parisiens will face Inter Milan.

However, there are other teams in the race. Manchester City are a long-term suitor but now look to have turned their attention to alternative targets. L’Équipe understands that Liverpool have also made contact regarding a move for Akliouche, but have since called for patience regarding a deal.

For now, only Nottingham Forest have shown themselves ready to make concrete steps towards getting the deal done, whilst Tottenham Hotspur have also recently opened talks.
