Reds trailing after uninspired first-leg display in Istanbul
Liverpool require a comeback victory if they are to keep their Champions League campaign alive as they host Galatasaray on Wednesday.
Arne Slot’s side trail the Turkish champions 1-0 after a turgid first leg was settled by Mario Lemina’s first-half header.
That was Galatasaray’s second win over Liverpool at Rams Park this campaign - they produced another 1-0 victory during the league phase - but they must now make the trip to Merseyside to test their mettle in front of the Anfield faithful.
Liverpool were not at their best as they drew 1-1 with relegation-threatened Tottenham at the weekend, and must buck up their ideas if they are to continue in Europe this season.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, kept up their winning run on Saturday, sinking Istanbul Basaksehir 3-0, with Victor Osimhen among the goals.
Liverpool vs Galatasaray is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The match will take place at Anfield.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports 1, with coverage starting from 7pm GMT ahead of an 8pm kick-off.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Discovery+ app and website.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog.
Injuries have been Liverpool’s undoing this season, and the problem persists at the moment - four first-team players are out with long-term injuries.
Alexander Isak seems closest to a comeback from his broken leg, but he is expected to remain sidelined until at least next month.
Elsewhere, Wataru Endo, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni are out for the season.

Hugo Ekitike and Mohamed Salah both started on the bench against Tottenham, suggesting Slot is prepared to throw them into the mix from the off against Galatasaray. Ibrahima Konate and Milos Kerkez were both rested, too, and should come back into the fold.
Galatasaray’s injury list is considerably minor relative to Liverpool’s, with just one injury in Okan Buruk’s squad. That is to reserve goalkeeper Enes Buyuk, who was not likely to appear regardless of his fitness.
Davinson Sanchez is suspended for the match after he was booked late in the reverse fixture for a foul on Ekitike.

Galatasaray’s two narrow wins over Liverpool this season will give Slot headaches in the build-up to this second leg.
While scorelines suggest a pair of tightly contested affairs, the Dutchman’s bigger concern will be his side’s inability to break down Galatasaray’s back line.
In a match where they will require one goal to force extra-time or two to progress, that is a problem which urgently needs solving. The difference may be made, then, by one of the two strikers: The in-form Victor Osimhen or Hugo Ekitike.
Spurred on by the Anfield supporters, we expect Liverpool to force extra-time, where Galatasaray’s slightly fresher legs may see them pull off a surprise upset.
1-1 draw after extra-time, Galatasaray to progress 2-1 agg.
No match between Liverpool and Galatasaray has ever been settled by a margin of more than one goal, suggesting another cagey affair is on the cards at Anfield.
