Premier League leaders look to get back to winning ways

Liverpool head into the weekend perhaps looking over their shoulders for the first time in weeks as they take on West Ham in the Premier League.

Defeat at Fulham last time out, having squeaked past Everton a few days earlier, coupled with a Champions League exit and a limp Carabao Cup final loss, has prompted suggestions that the Reds are running out of steam.

Should Arsenal - who will have one eye on their trip to Real Madrid next week - beat Brentford on Saturday night, the gap will be eight points. Beat West Ham and the gap again looks insurmountable, but until then the nerves may start to show at the Reds.

West Ham, meanwhile, are without a win in four and are losing touch with the top half.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Liverpool vs West Ham is scheduled for a 2pm BST kick-off on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

The match will take place at Anfield.

Liverpool vs West Ham team news

Liverpool have Alisson Becker fully fit to return and in contention to start, having missed the defeat at Fulham, otherwise it is a case of as you were with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomes and Tyler Morton still sidelined.

Diogo Jota again underwhelmed so Luis Diaz should come back into the team, while Darwin Nunez is, as always, knocking on the door. Conor Bradley is expected to start at right-back after his cameo off the bench against Fulham.

Niclas Fullkrug is pushing to start after coming on and scoring against Bournemouth last time out. Having finally proved his fitness, he could get the nod at Anfield with Jarrod Bowen, Mohamed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta in support. Aaron Cresswell, Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio remain sidelined.

Liverpool vs West Ham prediction

Arne Slot will have ripped into his players during the week after seeing his side lose away in the Premier League for the first time in his tenure, and West Ham could prove generous guests.

The Hammers continue to be leaky at the back and Mohamed Salah, now a staggering two games without a goal, will be desperate to get back into his stride. Liverpool should win and take another step towards the title.

Liverpool to win, 3-0.
