Reds bid to continue upturn in form after three straight wins before Christmas

Arne Slot’s side will be looking to continue their upturn in form after three straight wins in all competitions before Christmas.

The Reds won 2-1 at Tottenham last weekend, when they lost Alexander Isak to a broken leg that is set to keep him out for a few months.

Liverpool vs Wolves team news

Liverpool are dealing with several injury absentees, while Mohamed Salah is away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Dominik Szoboszlai is suspended, while Cody Gakpo is rated as “50-50” to be fit having sat out the last couple of games with a knock.

Conor Bradley faces a late fitness test, while Florian Wirtz is fit after a fitness scare.

Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo are longer-term absentees alongside Giovanni Leoni.

Wolves are also missing a host of players.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Marshall Munetsi are perhaps their biggest misses, while Rodrigo Gomes and Toti will also not make the trip to Merseyside.

Left-back Hugo Bueno faces a late fitness test on a groin injury.

Liverpool vs Wolves prediction

This should be pretty easy to call, regardless of Liverpool’s injuries.

The Reds are in form, Wolves are not. Hugo Ekitike has proved that he can shoulder the goalscoring burden, and now, he doesn’t have Isak competing for his position.

With Chelsea playing Aston Villa on the same day, this could be a real opportunity for the Reds to crash the top four.

Liverpool to win, 4-0.
