A player Paris Saint-Germain targeted last summer could be on the move soon. Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has been the subject of transfer rumors lately as he negotiates a contract extension with the club.
Back in December, Antena 2 reported that Barcelona and PSG were among the first clubs to show interest, with both reportedly willing to offer up to €80 million for him.
While those rumors have since cooled, PSG’s upcoming UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash with Liverpool could bring them back into the spotlight. Diaz will likely face questions about his future when the Premier League club visits Paris.

If PSG and Barcelona are still interested in Diaz, they just got a boost—transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed there’s nothing concrete or advanced regarding a new deal with Liverpool.
“My information is that at the moment there is nothing advanced or concrete in terms of new contract talks at Liverpool, so let’s see what happens in the final months of the season, if Liverpool decide to offer a new deal to Luis Diaz or if they decide to pathways in the summer transfer window,” Romano said speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside via a video post for the Daily Briefing.
“In general, there is a feeling that as well as Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could be leaving Liverpool in the summer transfer window. It’s a strong possibility; again, it’s not guaranteed yet, but it’s one to watch for sure”.
Recently, TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool are eager to secure Díaz with a new contract as clubs from the Saudi Pro League and top European teams monitor his situation.
The report also claims that Diaz has never turned down a contract offer from Liverpool, and there’s no indication of a stalemate between the two, as discussions haven’t reached the point of a formal offer yet.
