The Premier League champions have suffered two 1-0 defeats in both their visits to RAMS Park this term, having played the Turkish outfit in both the league phase and the last 16.

Arne Slot’s men were beaten by Mario Lemina’s goal in Istanbul last week, in a game where first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker missed out after suffering a minor injury in training before travelling.

It meant that Giorgi Mamardashvili stepped in on short notice, although the Brazilian was back in net for the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.

It leaves Liverpool without any immediate injury concerns, barring their longer-term absentees: Alexander Isak, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni.

As such, you would expect Slot to go strong here, particularly in response to their disappointing concession of a late equaliser against Spurs.

Alisson will be between the sticks, but right-back could be a point for conversation.

Jeremie Frimpong, in Bradley’s absence, is the Reds’ only recognised option there, but he was substituted at Anfield over the weekend as Dominik Szoboszlai, who opened the scoring that day, was shifted to full-back to accommodate Mohamed Salah’s introduction.

Liverpool were 1-0 up at the time as Slot chased an elusive second, and that gung-ho approach may be on the cards here with the Merseysiders chasing at least two goals.

If Szoboszlai is fielded in the back four, it leaves a place for Florian Wirtz to come into the side as the No10, with Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch behind him as the double pivot.

Salah is likely to be reinstalled into the starting XI after his benching against Spurs, and so too should Hugo Ekitike after Rio Ngumoha played on the left, with Cody Gakpo through the middle.

Predicted Liverpool XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Szoboszlai, Konate, van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike

Injured: Isak, Bradley, Leoni, Endo

Venue: Anfield
