The Reds could be without a star forward for the trip to Paris
Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of Cody Gakpo ahead of their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain after the forward was a no-show at training on Tuesday.
The forward was expected to be fit having returned from a knock picked up against Everton for cameo appearances against Manchester City and then Newcastle.
However, Gakpo did not join his team-mates for the opening training session on Tuesday afternoon. Reds manager Arne Slot will provide an update on the striker's fitness at his pre-match press conference at 6.30pm UK time.
In Gakpo's absence, Luis Diaz will likely be asked to lead the line against PSG with Diogo Jota drafted in to play on the flank. The Portuguese has also been used as the focal point of the attack, while Darwin Nunez is a less reliable option.
Slot is already missing Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez for the game in Paris.
Bradley is facing a number of weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, while Gomez is out for a least two months after having surgery on his own thigh complaint.
Adding to Slot's thoughts will be the threat of suspension hanging over the heads of Ibrahima Konate, Alexis Mac Allister, Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott. The quartet are all one yellow card away from a one-game ban.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Jota; Diaz
Injured: Bradley and Gomez (both hamstring)
Suspended: Nallo
Time and date: 8pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025
Venue: Parc des Princes, Paris
TV channel and live stream: TNT Sports and Discovery+
