Liverpool are moving incredibly quickly and directly this summer, wasting no time in completing negotiations with targeted players to secure a deal before anyone one else interferes.

As a result of the Club World Cup taking place this summer, a 10-day transfer window between June 1 and June 10 is taking place and the club is desperate to complete as much business as possible.

If the Reds are successful, then most of the remainder of the summer can be focused purely on making sure that preseason is successful in making the new players feel comfortable in their new surroundings and refining the adapted style of play that Arne Slot will be implementing.

Jeremie Frimpong has already received the 'Here We Go' from Fabrizio Romano, suggesting that his deal is just waiting to be confirmed when the transfer window opens, but it now appears that there might be more to his deal than meets the eye with regard to other recruitment targets.

The secret pull-factor bringing Florian Wirtz to Liverpool

Liverpool were not in the race for Wirtz last week, yet just a few days later the situation with the German playmaker has flipped on its head, with City no longer interested in a potential deal and with Bayern Munich likely to be snubbed as Merseyside is now his preferred destination.

A deal for the 22-year-old is set to cost around £126m, although it has been reported by some outlets that one of Liverpool's fringe assets could be heading the other way to sweeten negotiations.

If this comes to fruition, then the fee could drop to a far more understandable figure, and the world-class star would be making his way to Liverpool with a lot less pressure on him to deliver.

Furthermore, the Reds would have done a number on Bayern and City in pulling off what would undoubtedly be the bargain of the summer - a move that would send shockwaves around Europe.

But while many believe Liverpool's project is what has attracted Wirtz to the idea of joining us - which is true in every sense of the word - it is also plausible that a tactic involving Frimpong might have had a knock-on impact on the German's decision.
