Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek explains why Manchester United have made ‘a good signing’ in Atalanta player Ederson at €45m and looks ahead to England’s World Cup campaign.
The Rossoneri man was attending the Monaco Grand Prix after the end of the football season, where he barely played due to a succession of injury problems.
He spoke to Sky Sports UK and was asked about the multiple reports that Manchester United have agreed a deal with Atalanta for Brazil international Ederson, at a cost of €40.5m plus a further €4.5m in add-ons.

“I think he’ll do just fine,” said Loftus-Cheek.
“The times we’ve played against each other, he’s been very physical. He’s quick, he’s strong, good on the ball, so I’m thinking he’s going to do really well and he’s a good signing.”
The performances for Milan were so sporadic that there was little chance of Loftus-Cheek earning a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
He will be able to cheer on his teammates from home, though, even if there are a few question marks over the squad selection.
“That’s the kind of man he is. He’s going to go with what he feels. He’s a smart man and if he thinks that’s the best team to play, then we have to stay behind him, stay behind the boys. They have all the quality they need to do well.”
