Villarreal received a welcome boost on Thursday at the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza, with Logan Costa back working partially with Marcelino García Toral's squad.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the French defender, a Cape Verde international, joined the initial rondos and other exercises. He has been out for seven months and is in the final stretch of his recovery, though it remains unclear when he can fully rejoin the group or make a matchday squad.
Costa suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee on 19 July and underwent surgery.
Willy Kambwala is at a similar stage, more integrated with the group but not yet in full training. The DR Congo centre-back sustained a left hamstring tear in late August and should be very close to being available.
Captain Gerard Moreno remains out with a hamstring problem and looks almost ruled out of Saturday's visit to Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou, kick-off 16.15.
