WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this evening.
London City Lionesses have paid an undisclosed fee to secure the player’s services. Kafaji has signed a three-year deal with The Pride.
The 23-year-old joined Arsenal from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club BK Häcken in summer 2024. She went on to make 19 appearances for The Gunners in which she scored one goal. Kafaji won the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Arsenal in 2024/2025. The player spent last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion where she reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final.
On the international stage, Kafaji has been capped by Sweden on 18 occasions while she has scored three goals for her country.
After joining London City Lionesses, Kafaji said “I think this is a club that has high ambitions to become one of the best teams in the world, and I want to be a part of that. It’s also an independent club, which is very exciting.
“It’s going to be great to have some familiar faces, of course, Freya [Godfrey] I haven’t seen in a long time, I’ve missed her, and Kosse [Asllani] is a very caring person, so they will make it much easier for me to come into.”
Kafaji is London City Lionesses’ seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
