Louis Tomlinson tried on a 1993 Corinthians retro shirt at a Classic Football Shirts store in Los Angeles, in a video on the AwayDays YouTube channel. According to Meu Timao, the former One Direction singer is the latest star spotted in the Brazilian club's colours.

In the footage he pulls on the black and white striped 1993 model, with number nine on the back and Kalunga branding front and rear. Near the end of his trawl he picks the Corinthians top from several options, and the presenter says Brazilian fans would love the choice.

He explained he collects shirts without club allegiances beyond Doncaster Rovers. He joked that is the best way to avoid upsetting anyone.

Tomlinson also discussed his connection with the game, recalling a run-out for Doncaster Rovers' reserves and the thrill of playing in storied stadiums worldwide.

He rose to fame in 2010 on The X Factor as part of One Direction, later co-writing hits including Perfect, History and No Control. After the group's hiatus at the end of 2015, he pursued a solo career shaped by britpop and alternative rock.

He is due to return to Brazil on the How Did We Get Here? World Tour, with dates in São Paulo on six and seven April 2027 at Suhai Music Hall in the SP Market complex. Other international names seen in Corinthians gear in recent years include Akon, Drake, skateboarder Nyjah Huston and ex-quarterback Tom Brady.
