Corinthians beat Tubarão 3-1 on Saturday in the 10th round of the Liga Nacional de Futsal. The victory ended a seven-game LNF winless run and lifted them into 12th, with fixo Lucas Martins providing three assists.
In comments reported by Meu Timao, Martins said he was delighted with the team’s effort and that winning mattered more to him than personal numbers.
He noted the side had performed well in recent matches but costly mistakes crept in, and said they reduced those errors here to secure the win. That place is the final qualifying berth, with teams from fifth to 12th entering a play-off for the remaining quarter-final spots.
Five rounds remain in the first phase. Corinthians now face only teams currently in the bottom half, with Pato the highest placed in ninth. Earlier, they had managed only one win in the first six rounds, a 2-0 over Magnus Futsal.
Martins outlined the aim to qualify and to try to win the remaining games, acknowledging a difficult spell and that they are working to overcome it. He has 15 goal contributions in 22 games, six goals and nine assists.
Next up, they pause LNF action to host Wimpro Guarulhos in the Campeonato Paulista de Futsal A1 on Tuesday 30 at 20:00 at Ginásio Wlamir Marques.
