Lucas Perri is expected to start Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley for Leeds United after a turbulent first season. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke declined to confirm his goalkeeper but strongly hinted the cup pick would remain unchanged.

The Brazilian arrived with a pre-existing injury that hampered his Premier League preparation, then suffered another setback, missing four games before reappearing on the bench at Burnley.

He then started 13 successive league matches, only for high-profile mistakes against Manchester United and Newcastle United to draw public criticism from Farke. He has not featured in the league since, with Karl Darlow taking over.

The FA Cup has been his platform. Perri saved two penalties in the shootout at Birmingham City, kept a clean sheet against Norwich City and denied two again in the shootout at West Ham United.

He has become Leeds’ cup goalkeeper and called the run an incredible achievement for the club. He said he is happy to contribute and that the dressing room feels buoyant.

Perri, 28, said preparation remains routine, with the same weekly structure and processes. He compared walking out at Wembley to the Maracana and believes a positive outcome is possible if they keep faith, acknowledging the semi-final will be a difficult test and that Leeds are not finished with their season targets.
