Lucien Muller, former France and Real Madrid midfielder, dies aged 91

Lucien Muller, the former France international who played for Reims, Real Madrid and Barcelona, has died aged 91.
According to L'Équipe, Muller won 16 caps for France and reached the Euro 1960 semi-finals.
A midfielder, he began at Strasbourg before spells with Toulouse and, twice, Reims, where he lifted two league titles.
He played for Real Madrid, winning three Ligas and finishing runner-up in the European Cup in 1964, and he also represented Barcelona, later coaching them in 1978-1979.
He also managed Monaco, lifting the Coupe de France in 1985. Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot paid tribute, describing Muller as a club legend, a kind and respected figure, and offering condolences to his family and those he touched.
