At one point, Samuel Luckhurst noticed an exchange between Bruno Fernandes and Michael Carrick that suggests some early tension between the pair.
He said on X/Twitter: “Fernandes having a bit of a moan at Carrick, who shrugs his shoulders. Seemed to be telling Fernandes to stay more central.”
The Portuguese will be doing everything in his power to add to his remarkable tally of goal contributions that he’s accumulated this term.
Fernandes has notched seven goals thus far, but what really takes the cake is his 16 assists, which meant that he overtook David Beckham’s longstanding record of 15 in a single campaign – and Fernandes still has seven-and-a-half games left to play.

As for Carrick, he’s looking to continue his stellar record in the dugout, having won seven of his nine matches since taking the reins in mid-January.
United sit third-placed as things stand. Their closest competitors in the top-four race are fourth-placed Aston Villa, who face West Ham on Sunday, and fifth-placed Liverpool, who travel to the Amex for tomorrow’s early kick-off against Brighton and Hove Albion.
When the full-time whistle blows later tonight, it’ll mark United’s last action until April 13.
The Reds will host fierce rivals Leeds United following the conclusion of the international break, and will be hoping to secure all three points after being held to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road in January, which marked Ruben Amorim’s final outing as head coach.
